Windows 8 includes a new feature that allows users to see used drive space for Metro apps. This can be helpful if a user is unsure how much storage they need for an app. To use this feature, open the Charms bar and click on the Settings icon. From here, select System and then Storage. Under “Available storage,” you’ll see a list of all of your installed Metro apps. The size of each app’s icon will indicate how much space it is using on your computer. If you want to delete an app, simply click on its icon and then click the “X” in the top-right corner. This will remove the app from your computer but it will not be deleted from your storage space. ..

In Windows 8 there is no obvious way of checking how much space each Metro app is taking up–the option is actually hidden away in PC settings, read on to find out how to access it.

Viewing the Size of Metro Apps

Press the Windows + I keyboard combination and choose Change PC settings.

When the new Control Panel opens, head into the General section.

Scroll down on the right-hand side until you see the View app sizes button, then click on it.

This will bring up a dialog that will show you the size of each Metro app you have installed.

That’s all there is to it.
