If you’re like most people, the start menu on your computer alphabetically sorts your programs. But this isn’t always the best way to organize your programs. In this article, we’ll show you how to stop the start menu from alphabetically arranging your programs. First, open the start menu and click on “All Programs.” Next, click on “Accessories” and then on “Startup Manager.” In Startup Manager, click on the “Programs” tab and then select “Browse my computer for installed software.” In the list of installed software, select all of the programs that you want to arrange in a different order. Finally, click on the “Sort by” button and choose one of the following options: Name: This will sort the programs by their name. Date: This will sort the programs by their date of installation. Size: This will sort the programs by their size. ..

By default the Start Menu will automatically arrange your installed programs alphabetically, while this may be the behavior you desire, I know a lot of people who are irritated by it. Here’s how to disable it.

Disable Alphabetic Sorting Of Programs

Right-click on the Start Orb and select Properties from the context menu.

When the Properties dialog loads, make sure your on the Start Menu tab and hit the Customize button.

This will bring up the customization options, scroll down until you find the option labeled Sort All Programs menu by name and deselect the box.

Click ok and that’s all there is to it, you can now arrange your programs as you wish.
