Yahoo is announcing that it will start sending out notifications to users today about “User Name Wishlists.” The notifications will tell users that their Yahoo user name has been added to a list of names that have been chosen for future account changes. Yahoo says that this is an opt-in feature and that users can choose to remove their name from the list at any time. ..

Are you one of the people who signed up for Yahoo’s user name wishlist last month? Then you will be glad to know that Yahoo has started mailing out notifications to people regarding the user names they signed up for!

If you have not received a notice yet, just keep watching your inbox for the ‘hopefully good‘ news about the user names you wanted.

There was some strong competition for particular names and Yahoo has listed the top requests in their blog post. There were also some ‘interesting’ name requests as well!

The wishlist has also evolved into a new watchlist, so if you did not get the user name you wanted right now, there is still hope for the future.
